Our Shed has a large range of woodworking tools such as table saw, bandsaws, router table, thicknesser, Linisher, bobbin sander, scroll saw, drill presses and a range of battery operated tools, drills, drivers, etc.
What we do at our Shed
In this day, and age, many people have had to downsize their living arrangements. It’s often results in the man losing his personal space, his garden shed his workshop, his tools.
Medical research shows that a man’s good health and well-being is based on many factors, including good self-esteem, and self worth, being active, being productive, and having good social connections.
This is where Mens Shed’s come in. A shed is where men can come and be together and do some of the things that interest them.
To relax and be a bloke if you want!
Central Mountains, Men’s Shed Inc is a place to work on your own projects, to help the community, and help your new mates.
The shed also provides access to other social networks, as well as access to men’s health and lifestyle information.
We cater for a vast range of activities as shown below but if none of these interest you then it’s fine to just come along, have a chat and catch up with likeminded men over a cup of tea, coffee or your choice of beverage.
Metalwork
In our metalwork shop we have several welders, a plasma cutters, many bench grinders, drill presses plus hand tools suited to this type of work. Many of our members are always willing to teach and show others how to use the equipment.
CO2 Laser cutter engraver
A recent addition to our range of equipment is a Vevor 60watt CO2 laser that can cut and engrave wood, acrylic and many other types of material. We have used it to create acrylic Christmas trees, decorations etc. and to produce small wooden boxes and the like.
Gardening group
We have amongst our members several who are very keen gardeners and love working in the beautiful surrounds of Kihilla Resort & Conference Centre. From tending the lawns to trimming bushes and trees and planting a variety of flowers, a great place to work.
